We are pleased to announce the addition of Ricky Perez as the new Assistant Operations Manager of The Stud. Ricky has worked in all facets of the operation since late Spring and has started full time as of January 1, 2016. He will be living on the farm in Montgomery and will help oversee all day to day functions of the boar stud and assist with the daily functions of the showpig division, including coordinating farm visits to view boars and/or pigs and helping customers with semen orders, feeding questions and help with camps and shows.
Ricky is originally from Pasadena, Texas and was actively involved in FFA throughout his highschool years. This is where he found his passion in the showpig industry and desire to pursue a career in the business. He then attended Sam Houston where he completed his Bachelor’s degree majoring in Animal Science with a minor in agri-business, and, this December, finished his Master’s of Science degree in agriculture. In the time Ricky as been a part of The Stud, we have been thoroughly impressed with not only his dedication to the operation and attention to detail, but also his desire to learn and focus on success!
Ricky has been very instrumental this Summer and Fall with increasing the efficiency of the boar stud on collection days, maintaining appropriate bio-security measures and cleanliness of the boar stud as well as heightened boar health and semen quality. He will continue to play a vital role in the boar stud.
With Ricky on board, we will be able to serve more customers by increasing the number of showmanship camps and The Stud checkups, as well as, make more farm visits and shows to help customers during the feeding process. We will have more available times to view pigs for sale at the farm and plan to host and attend more sales in the future as well.
Please help us in welcoming Ricky to The Stud team!
