🛑ATTENTION🛑

We’ll try to keep this short—Change is often uncomfortable and sometimes just downright hard, but as the quote says it is also inevitable and, from our experience, leads to great things!

As of June 1, Daniel and Rachel Schley have bought the entirety of the sow herd and boars from The Stud, LLC and will be operating as Schley Farms. Kelton will continue his involvement in the show pig and cattle sectors as Mason Livestock.

Over the past 10 years, The Stud has experienced some of the highest of highs a show pig operation can have, and, like all businesses, has had some low points as well. As a true manager/owner-partnership, there have been trials and things to work through and even more-so in an industry that involves as much emotion as the show livestock world does.

The Stud, LLC partnership worked because of the mutual respect and trust we had for each other and to this day we would vouch neither of us ever questioned the other partner poured everything they had into making the business successful. We’ve been through a lot together both personally and professionally. Truly this is more like a family than a business in a lot of ways and, none of us would want to have had it any other way. Carrie (Brockman) was a huge part in the start of the operation and her efforts to lay the foundation have never gone unnoticed and certainly appreciated greatly as well. There were so many friends that gave their time and resources willingly and without wanting anything in return, to which we will forever be grateful.

Between the two locations, we have had 11 full time employees (and countless people help) over the years that have believed in us, in the customers and dedicated time and long hours to make this deal work. Beyond thankful to y’all and we hope the time at The Stud has helped pave the way for your futures!

The funny thing about this business is our customers are way more than that, they are family also. The parents that trusted their kids’ dreams and allowed us to be a small part in their raising, it means so much; the kids that poured everything into their projects, shared in the success and the losses of the whole crew and through it all buckled down double hard the next time, y’all are amazing and why we did it. Thank y’all so much. These memories we will cherish forever and hope to make many more. Also, the breeders that utilized our genetics both through the boar stud and females, it is the most humbling and rewarding thing we did as an operation to have your confidence in our program.

We are excited about the opportunities the new ventures bring and will continue to work together. Please be watching on each individual social media outlets that will be posted soon for all updates, announcements and news pertaining to Schley Farms or Mason Livestock.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making The Stud a true blessing to our families. The last 10 years have been a dream come true for all of us. As we close this chapter and hopefully open more doors, we just have to say one more time….on to the next one and see you all down the road!! #beAstud
